Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that helps to stop a cough from occurring. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that helps to relieve the effects of a blocked nose by thinning the blood vessels that have become swollen due to an infection. Triprolidine is an antihistamine that treats several symptoms, including sneezing, a runny nose, and watery eyes.
What causes a dry cough?
A dry cough can be caused by several different conditions. The most common causes are a cold, the flu, and allergies. A dry begins as a result of irritation in the throat because of germs that have entered the body. It is often the case that these germs spread, causing other symptoms. Of course, germs can enter the body elsewhere, such as the nose or mouth and then move down into the throat. A dry cough can also be caused by smoking and heartburn/acid reflux.
