Silver sulfadiazine has broad antimicrobial activity. It is bactericidal for many Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria as well as being effective against yeast. After application of silver sulfadiazine cream onto the burn wound surface the compound acts a reservoir of silver ions. Silver ion exerts a bactericidal effect on bateria.
Dermazin Cream, also known as Flamazine, is a topical cream containing silver sulfadiazine used to treat and prevent infections in burn wounds and other skin injuries. It has a broad antimicrobial spectrum, targeting various bacteria and fungi commonly found in wounds.
